I have a theory about not knowing stuff

I don’t spend time on my own watching funny videos, following gossip on some celebrities, reading articles that give no information at all and so on. I just don’t want to make the time for such things.

I know it might sound ignorant, but I prefer looking at the ceiling aka. not doing anything, but think.

And this is my theory: everybody knows this kind of stuff. Everybody can say something about the most viral / trivial / popular subjects on the internet or in the media. And because of this, I can catch up anytime, without investing my own daily hours in doing so.

I usually try to find out more about subjects that others don’t spend time on anymore. Like old movies. If we would all just watch the new ones, the old ones would just disappear. Without anyone appreciating their beauty and it would be a waste.

The downside is that if you’re the only one interested in something, you will not have a conversation mate at the table.

But, I’m asking: if we would all just stop paying attention to this huge amount of nonsense, wouldn’t all just go away?
